After many years of living in your home there may be some things which are in need of repair or replacement. For instance, there may be stains that build up on your bathtub, giving it the appearance of being dirty and unhealthy. These stains are very hard to remove and in fact some may seem impossible to remove, no matter how much effort you put into cleaning the bathtub. You may even consider replacing the tub to be rid of any unsightly stains. However, before buying an expensive new tub, you may be interested to know that there is a way to give your old stained bathtub a brand new face lift. The method that is used for making stained tubs look brand new is by means of bathtub refinishing.
 

Since bathtub is the center of looking in the restroom, you need to make it clean and comfortable. The problems are stain and spot on the tub is difficult to be cleaned. You need to use your power and strength to clean. Dingy bathtub is very annoying.

In the bathroom, check around your toilet for signs of leaks. The wax seal under the toilet is most common area for leaks and water damage. This seal is a circular form of wax that connects and seals the toilet to the drain flange beneath. One sign of potential damage safe step tub refinishing is if the toilet wobbles. This could mean the bolts that hold the toilet to the floor are loose or worn. This can cause the wax seal to crack or break. Water (and other material) may leak, causing discoloration to the ceiling on the floor below.

If everything has been put together right, the reglazing tub can now be slid into its position on the ledgers. The drainpipe will be in the correct position to slide right into the p-trap. Using the hardware that came with the bathtub, nail it down and attach all plumbing and cover plates. After everything is connected, give the plumbing a trial run so that you can check for leaks.

If your existing bathtub is pink or aqua, I can see your point. In that case, reglazing might be an option. This is not inexpensive, but will eliminate the struggle of getting the bathtub out of it's existing space.

Start with the walls: I just finished refinishing the walls of our Airstream Landyacht with a wonderful product that is trowelled on and sticks to anything. It is called Lustrestone. It brings drab to its knees with a shimmery, yet stoney look; and can be done any number of color combinations. After removing the window cornices and patching any holes, a few coats and it's better than new. The bath tub restoration walls were done with a different color of Lustrestone, then stencilled with a bamboo trellis. The challenge was to work with the uneven angles of a motorhome. The bedroom walls were done in a faux lepoard skin which has transformed it into a lush, cozy room, and separate from the rest.

The next step in the process is to sand down the surface of your tub in order to rough it up a bit and make the surface even. This will make it easier for the paint to cling to the surface. At this point you should also cover up any surfaces that you do not wish to paint with masking tape.
